FIAC Governance Policy

 

1. Resolutions proposed for consideration by the board of directors shall be posted on the FIAC Board Blog, as shall votes on resolutions by individual directors. Amendments to Bylaws must be approved by all voting members in order to be adopted via the blog. On other resolutions, if no representative of a given member association responds to a request for vote for seven days, the vote of that association shall default to "Abstain". However whenever a representative either presents a comment or simply requests more time via the blog, the timeout clock shall be reset for that association.

2.  Proposals for FIAC National Championships shall be considered annually for the following events and racing classes:

Criteriums, Road Races, Hill Climbs, and Track Omniums for junior, elite, and master women & men;

Individual Time Trials for women and men in the following age groups: 16 & younger, 18 & younger, Elite, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+, and for elite two-person tandems and mixed tandems (at least one woman);

Team Time Trials for women: Elite, 40+, 50+; and men: Juniors, Elite, 30+, 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+;

Cyclocross for junior men, elite women & men, master 40+ men;

Stage Race for elite women & men, master 40+ men;

Six-Day Track for elite women & men.

The fee to organizers of each kind of championship shall be $100, paid in advance, except for the Team Time Trials, where the fee is $2,000, and the Individual Time Trials, where the organizer shall provide the FIAC Champions jerseys for this event in addition to the $100 fee. Proposals must be submitted to the executive director for compilation and recommendation to the board of directors, who shall choose which events to designate. FIAC will provide a distinctive jersey for the first place finisher in each elite event and medals to the top three places in all events.

3. The annual fee for member associations is $600, payable on January 1 of each year. Members that have not paid by February 1 shall be suspended until they pay.
